Since 1994, Kevin Crosslin has been releasing music under the name Cavestar.  His first published track was Quiet Light on Spirit of Wandjina, The Third Barramundi Sampler on Antler-Subway Records from Belgium. Shortly after, he was signed to Mindspore Records from Los Gatos CA, and assembled his self titled solo CD. Crosslin eventually joined the Mindspore team, taking on the duties of art direction, mastering and A&R. The Cavestar disc made its way to college radio stations around the world.

Next, Crosslin produced LA Critical Mass, a compilation of bands that gravitated and played numerous shows together in the Los Angeles area. cavestar appears on a variety of VA discs, was tapped to provide music for the Nickolas Perry film Speedway Junky, and then went on to enjoy a year-long DJ residency at Hollywood hotspot Les Deux Cafes before escaping Los Angeles in 2004.

In 2023, Crosslin compiled and produced Critical Mass 2,
a follow up compilation to LACM on Pyschosomatic Records.

Crosslin now lives in Arizona, where he continues to make music, lends his mixing, mastering and art direction experience to musical colleagues, takes pictures, and grows plants.
